Well, the promise of the Battersea Park Formula E event causing “a few days disruption” can now be taken with a pinch of salt, with large areas of the Park out of bounds for regular users and the whole place looking like a noisy ugly building site.

The social media sites have been flooded with complaints with images of heavy machinery and fenced off areas, and there hasn’t been much positive reporting from the press:
Wandsworth Guardian Zoo Animals Must be rehomed
London Evening Standard: We all lose when parks are pimped
Wandsworth Guardian: Chaos as Battersea Park prepares for Formula E weekend

Maybe regular Park users should wander down to Nine Elms, where 12,000+ unaffordable apartments are under construction, for a bit of peace and quiet?

Our heart goes out to the Park Management, who have had this imposed upon them by the Wandsworth Councillors and WBC senior management, and to the Childrens Zoo, and other concessions, that must have lost significant business whilst the lorries pour in and out of the Park gates.

The local Queenstown ward councillors are:
Councillor Mayor Nicola Nardelli ([email protected])
Councillor Sally-Ann Ephson ([email protected])
Councillor Marie Hanson ([email protected]).
